Wedding stationery is a must have for your wedding. So when we wanted to get some direct advice from a local North Alabama stationer, we went straight to our friend Frances at Ledgewood Fine Stationery. We asked her what advice and tips she offers to couples when it comes to their wedding stationery and here is what she had to say...

Picking out printing processes, paper options, design elements and style choices, can make designing your wedding invitations a bit overwhelming. As the owner and graphic designer of Ledgewood Fine Stationery (LFS) and I want to make the planning of your paper goods easy breezy and fun from the start! Pretty paper is my passion and specialty – so put these two things together and we’ll make the invitations and paper goods you’ve always dreamed of for your special day!

Working with a professional stationer is a complete gamechanger when it comes to planning out the paper goods for your wedding. Whether you know exactly what you want or are unsure, I will guide you through the entire process, making it an exciting and stress-free experience. Before we get started, I highly suggest doing a bit of fun research from your phone or computer. Check out our Instagram page (@ledgewoodfinestationery) and website (www.ledgewoodfinestationery.com), along with other invitations online or invitations you’ve received from previous weddings. Find out what you like from design layout and color schemes to fonts, monograms, and paper. This little bit of research will help you zone in on your personal style and allow us to select your perfect theme for your wedding paper.
Typically, by the time you start working on your paper goods, you have already decided on your wedding colors and floral selections. Your wedding invitations set the tone for your entire wedding, so should you want to incorporate some of these elements into your wedding suite, now is the perfect time.
Once we have your invitation designed, LFS can create coordinating paper goodies for your big day, such as personalized cups, napkins, drink huggers, wedding programs, table numbers, seating chart, welcome sign…the list goes on and on!
From the moment your guests receive your wedding invitation to the time they walk into your reception, LFS will have “wowed” your guests by creating paper goods to make your big day remarkable and one to remember! We strive to go above and beyond for each of our LFS brides, and, by the end of your engagement, you will have a new found love for paper goods!

Helpful Tips:
-
Working with a professional stationer will elevate your wedding stationery on so many levels. The quality of work will be top notch, wording will be accurate according to etiquette, along with having someone guide you in the right direction based on your personal needs.
-
Invitations are so important! They are the first glimpse your guests see of your wedding. You want to set the tone for your big day!
-
Start on your guest list as soon as you get engaged! (The Never-Ending Guest List as I like to call it!) This way, you will see the number of households you will be sending invitations to. A common misconception is the amount of people vs. households, you will need to order invitations based on quantity of households, not number of people.
-
It’s never too early to start on your paper goods! Deciding the color scheme, fonts, and theme early will put you ahead of the game and allow you to enjoy the design process even more!
